Before coming to Urban the only physical exercise Pat did was running and was ready to try something else.
She started out thinking CrossFit was a cult. She joined our fitness classes and thought CrossFit was too tough for her and there was NO way she was doing it.
Fast forward a few months and Pat now does CrossFit daily and is loving it! She made the decision to take on a new challenge, go out of her comfort zone and put all her initial thoughts behind her.

What did she think after that first session?
A: "I struggled to walk, I was sore but when I woke up the next day I felt a sense of achievement and couldn’t wait for the next session.

When Pat isn’t at the gym she says her favourite thing to do spend time with her 3 daughters. She works a busy job as an RN at a private hospital Cardiac Cath Lab. Essentially she saves patients who are having heart attacks!

With such a busy and high-pressure job, we asked Pat what keeps her happy and stress-free.
A: "the freedom of the odd swear word and training my butt off"
(*probably more than the odd swear word*) 😂
With the goal of getting a strict pull-up and a free-standing handstand, Pat arrives everyday keen to train and give it 100% every time.

What is a piece of advice, from a mother of 3 who lives a super busy life and still finds time to train, that she can share with those people under the impression that CrossFit is too hard or only for fit people?
A: "Just get in here and try it! Put away your fears, stop being a sheep and believing everything you hear. Crossfit is amazing and one of the best parts of my life! You don’t have to be strong, you don’t have to be fit you just need to be eager to learn!"

Well said Pat! You are definitely eager to learn and try new things yourself. You're also an incredibly strong and inspiring woman who never holds back and has the heart of a lion. With the whole community behind you, we know you'll achieve more than you thought possible.
